Update v0.5.0: Adorable oozes



This week, the combat system got a do-over. The old method of handling combat did not work well for sharing features between fights (like usable items, skills, and enemy AI improvements), so the whole thing needed to be re-written. Old fights (the drainfly and the printer) are unaffected by these updates, but all fights added in the future will share the updated features. An event system also got added, which will form the foundation for later systems like pregnancy, time-based buff/debuffs, and other player conditions. Although, it is currently only used to trigger fights and regen your flux. I didn't get around to making the female slime enemy, but she will get her turn in the spotlight next week.


Patch notes:

  • Made a new version of the combat system (this is for new fights only, old fights are unaffected)
  • Allowed items to be used during new fights
  • Allowed skills to be used during new fights
  • Added a 'Defend' and 'Do nothing' action to new fights
  • Added male slime fight
  • Added interactions with the male slime in the dungeon
  • Added 1 point of flux regen every 10 steps in the overworld
  • Made consecutive scrolling more snappy
  • Solved a rare issue where the game would be unresponsive for the first 10 seconds after loading the page
  • Typos have been fixed (Due to the contributions of Toksyniusz, Grim, and RadTad)
